'Quayside' was a Northern soap opera produced and directed by Matthew Robinson for Zenith North and Channel 3 North East TV. Studio filming was in a warehouse on Gateshead's Team Valley Estate and much of the action was shot on Newcastle's Quayside. It featured Joe Caffrey, Dean Atkinson, Beth Wightman, Joanne Rowden, Emma Louise Webb and former World Cruiserweight Boxing Champion Glen McClory. Unwisely, it was scheduled at the same time as BBC's 'Eastenders' and only ran for 17 episodes. |
The plot concerned two brothers, Mal & Luke Shepherd, who ran 'Mal's Bar' on the Quayside and the Kennedy sisters who ran a promotions agency next door. Yvette played Rosie Slater in 13 episodes. Rosie was a police officer who left the force after losing a sex discrimination case.
